when I trun the key have way I hear no alarm. Are these two wires my alarm? The color code (purple and tan/blue) matches what's in my manual but its got that little connector on it which doesn't match pictures of the alarm wiring I've seen on the web.

That is a connector which would go to a switch to turn sound the alarm. The alarm is in a pic below and note the two individual wires. The harness is made for different models and it could be used an inboard transmission temp switch. If I remember correctly you have smartcraft which is digital. The other two wires Green/White goes to the analog trim down switch.

Thank you. Do you recommend I just cut that connector off and wire it up or is there a adapter available?

I wouldn't do anything. The connector is made so the only way to make contact is something has to be stuck inside it. Even then if something did touch the Tan/Blue and it was a ground the only thing that would happen would the alarm would go off. If you want to keep it clean, put some silicone down in it. This way if you ever need it, it can still be used
