Is this normal pricing to re-upholster 3 back rests?

I got quoted by a local guy to have these three back rests done for $1400-$1600. Is this a normal price for this? I was figuring it wouldn't be north of $1000.

Is there maybe a place online I can ship them to that would be cheaper?

I don't know if it's normal but I quoted about $1000.00 just to do 2 small curved back rests. He said the curve is what makes it expensive.

I paid $1500 to have all my interior done except for the bucket seats. And that's including the rear sunpad/engine cover
