i just got this tank given to me and im almost positive its a pressure tank, are these different from the 2 line tanks? is this one still worth good money? ive seen similar ones getting good money on e-bay, but how mich do yall think i could get for this one? the hoses need to be replaced the the pumper thing works and the clip on the end of the hose is still good. just wodering what you guys think. either way it was free so im happy, but i dont see myself using it soon enough, and i need some cash, otherwise do you think i should keep it for a while and maybe one day itd be worth more? thanks guys! you rule!!! Yes it is. Looks to be from 1953-56. Only worth what someone will pay.

The connector on the end of the hose costs around $100 new. The only tanks available anymore are used ones. I'd say they are worth something. The Big Question...what does it look like inside? If it is full of gum, varnish and rust it is worth a lot less than one that is clean and shiny. I picked up two of them Saturday...free. But one is terribly cruddy inside and the other one is good only for parts.

Throw some CLEAN gravel in and shake it around. This helps knock rust and junk loose. Rick

Re: is this a pressure tank?

I was just at an antique outboard motor meet this past saturday and one of the members was giving them away, he had a trailer with about 15 of them. I of course got one and some extra parts as well.

They are only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

There are re-build kits available, as well as replacement hoses, you'll want them, because if you do the gravel in the tank process, which works, you'll want to remove the 6 or so screws and the whole top assembly. Also be sure to wash and dry the empty tank, which is now clean and shiny. You'll wanna dry the tank as well as possible, so that no rust forms. I usually spray the in sides with a mist of wd40 to coat the bare metal. Then reassemble, using new gaskets and parts. You'll probably also need to replace the "O" rings in the connector.

If it works, meaning when you press on button and the gas cap is on tight, you either feel pressure or see gas coming from the gas side of the fuel line. Then you might be able to get a few bucks for it.
