That would be a good engine if you were gonna race.Go to a Chevy dealer and check the price on a short block.Then change the freeze plugs and head gaskets.Then put your parts on it.J

It is hard to gauge a remanufacturer from a spec sheet. Prior customers info, on customer service and quality of work are key. You want to talk to a dozen or so customers that have had these engines for a year or two.

From the specs, a few things jump out at me:

- HP rating seems high, guessing that is with headers and above 5K rpms.
- High volume oil pump can be a problem in a boat.
- Cam seems a little big, longish duration, might have idle issues,
- Find out the specific GM 76cc heads. There are good and bad ones. ie you want HD truck heads.

GM sells a 350 crate motor with a truck cam and brass core plugs already installed.
My neighbor just put one in his truck.
