Yeah, when it finally overheats you can buy some pistons and other goodies from him. Or maybe a whole new motor. Sounds like a Really Good Plan, but don't forget to bring a pair of oars.
<br /><br />It's not a bad idea at all to at least inspect it. If you run in salt-water, its a good idea to regularly take apart things that are regular maintanance items - like thermostats and water pumps. If you exercise the bolts, they won't freeze up on you later and cause headaches. Coat all your bolts in sealant and they'll come out much easier next time.
