I HAVE A 86 35HP FORCE MORTOR STARTER TURNS OVER
FINE W/NO LOAD BUT WHEN IT HAS A LOAD IT TURNS OVER TO SLOW TO START THE MOTOR.

JUST PUT A NEW BATT. IN IT
Howdy, D&C.

Pleas don't shout.

You most likely have a poor connection somewhere in your high current circuit.

Clean all connections that have large guage wire and check the wire for internal corrosion.

Good luck.
Do as JB says and check the wiring, even jumper over the solenoid. If that is not it, you will probably need to rebuild your starter or have someone recondition it..
If you checked all your connections and they are good, a cleaning may not do it. You will need to replace your brushes and clean up the armature and windings. I had this same problem, put in a rebuilt starter ($80) and she spun like never before..

But jumping the solenoid does not mean the connections are good. You need to pull them apart and clean them..
I think there is less tolerance for a weak starter on the Chrysler/Force than on Evinrudes and Johnsons. My old Chrysler had a high torque starter (think that's how they are described -- really scream, just like the cars). If it were me, I would just take it to a reputable rebuilder and have it checked and (probably) rebuilt. (sounds like you have already checked out the other common problems)
Hey, D&C.

Did you take apart and clean EVERY large guage connection?

Both battery terminals?
Both ends of the battery hot lead to the solenoid?
Both ends of the solenoid to battery lead?
Both ends of the block to battery ground lead?

Add you battery switch in there if you have one.

Let us know.
To determine whether it's a starter or supply problem, do the following test while cranking.

If the voltage is below 9.5 volts its likely a supply issue (battery, solenoid, wires, connections)

If the voltage is above 9.5 and it still cranks slow, its a starter problem.....

Everyone
Thanks for the help! I cleaned all of my connections & recleaned my starter & it still turned to slow. I have a BEAR tester for checking
auotmotive electrical systems.I found out that my new battery had a dead cell. Returned battery for another new one & now she wisses like a champ.

p.s I think this forum is awesome,I've learned
more here than when I went to auto college.
