is my motor frozen

i have a merc 50 hp the starter ingages but it wont turn the motor i also tryd to turn the flywheel with a big socket and it wont any ideas

yike!!!<br /><br />Seizure can be either the engine or gear box. Drain gear box and inspect oil condition. If oil is OK, pull the plugs and fill cylinders with penetrating oil.....<br /><br />If won't break free after a day or so, pull the leg off and try with gear box removed...<br /><br />

the propeller spins fine by hand in both ways i tryed to the oil in the cyl about a week ago and nothing

prop spinning in both directions doesn't reflect the driveshaft bearing. Still can be bottom end. Pull it off. Not a big job....then you'll know
