Can you imagine air getting under that platform and flipping it? I would love to see that video... Can't believe they would allow that on any body of water!

And to think my neighbor has about the same size pontoon and he's only running a 25 horse merc... Wide open he does 11 MPH with his setup...

Somebody with more money than sense with buy it too ! ! !

A buddy bought a larger pontoon back in the summer with a 115 4 stroke on it and, in my opinion, is the perfect match.

I thought my old boss was nuts when he bought a tri-toon with 2 100HP on it, heck we water skied behind that thing!

No such thing as too much horsepower. Nothing says you have to use it all the time.

More power! ARRR ARRRR ARRR! The Biford Model 700 on it gives you just enough power for those leisurely summer cruises!

There is a toon on the lake that I boat on that has twin 300hp Mercs. I have never seen it go faster than 10 MPH though. Most of the time I see it it is docked.

Twin 300's on a pontoon boat seems like some kind of overkill/mid-life crisis/testosterone deal to me....but hey, if he's got the money$$$$, then go for it!....

Yup, I actually owned a Ferrari for a while! But the insurance killed me, so I sold to the next guy going through male midlife crisis.

Tri-toons are made for a level or 3 above other Toons regarding speed and handling and basic performance.

BTW, if more horsepower is good then too much is just right

I do not actually believe that but it does give a perspective on the mindset of over-the-top hotrodders :)

Thumpar, the reason you prolly see it docked most of the time is its like flushing a toilet when you reach and grab a good handful of throttle.

Ha I'm like the next guy that loves to go fast, but as I grow older, I see some questionable ideas I use to have and know there is a limit to the go-fast scenario. I mean you want to be able to tell folks about your fast boat don't you?

to each their own. guess if you want to go fast on a pontoon.:noidea: kinda like a big tunnel hull if you think about it. or like putting 3000 hp to make your motorhome fast:der:

Nothing sounds quite like the power of multiple Seven Marine 557's
