reason I asked several months ago I dinged the prop on my pontoon with a 60 HP merc bigfoot.....sent the prop to be reconditioned, got it back, it was about 2 trips later before I took the boat to where I could open up the throttle ( manatee area )...anyways

I used to get about 5100-5200 RPM's at WOT, now I only get 3900...at first I suspected the shop had given me the wrong prop back, or they reconditioned it incorrectly and the pitch is off ??

I read its pretty hard to determine the pitch of the prop or measure it accurately, and I don't know what it was before it got dinged and sent to the shop.

So if it really isn't the prop, last time I got to open her up, like stated I got 3900 RPM and it seemed like something was holding the motor back or it was teetering on trying to get more juice out of the engine ??

we had made 2 boat trips but never went above 2000 RPM as most of the trip was in no wake and just cruising around....each trip, I noticed some yellow crusty foam from the exhaust ports on the rear of the engine, just above the water line.....I'm not a mechanic and don't play one on TV, but I might be having a problem with the carbs.....Its hard trying to find a quality mechanic to work on your boat where I live, let alone meet you at the dock on a weekend to go for a test ride, then it's still 15-20 min to open water where I can open her up to explain the issue.

sorry for long winded...where should I go from here ??

YES, it could be a carb problem. If thats unburned fuel that's slobbering down the back of the engine like it sounds like it is. I would start by check all 3 cyls. for spark to begin with thats the simplest to do. If you have good spark and plugs then you need to address the carbs.
