Is it ok to run a jacuzzi 12yj jet on the dry?

Does anybody know if its ok to run a Jacuzzi 12yj jet in the driveway to tune up the engine? Of course I would supply water to the heat exchanger to keep the motor cool.Is there any seals in the jet that need to worry about running dry?<br />If so is there a way to run water to the critical parts?<br />Does anybody know a website or forum that might have more info on jets?<br />thanks <br />Randy

http://www.harbercraft.com/Forum/ the shaft packing depends on some water leaking through to lubricate it and keep it from overheating. just like a straight inboard. the impellor is always turning and putting a load on the engine, so if you do tune it on the trailer,(no load) it will still need final tuning in the water.
