is a suzuki control box compatible with a nissan outboard

i have a nissan 140 and with a old corroded control box. a friend gave me a suzuki control box in much better shape. i know the cut out is bigger. i am not sure if the cables are compatible. i would also like to know what control box i can buy new will work. money is tight these days. thanks for the replies in advance.

Aside from the obvious wiring differences, any box that uses morse-type push-pull cables can operate throttle and shift, but some are pull for wot, others are push for wot; likewise, some will be pull for F, while others will be pull for R.
