is a 55# trolling motor enough?

For an 18' 6" Sea Ray open bow runabout, fished mainly with just a couple guys on a fairly calm lake?

Wind is your enemy. 55# is a lot of thrust but 19' is a big boat. Bow mount works best.

Son has a Motorguide 56# on a 18' Procraft and it does fine on windy Texas lakes.

You said your lake was relatively calm. Go for it.
