Is a 1991 Evinrude 200 part of the Ocean Pro series?

I've got a 1999 Ocean Pro 150, which I like. I'm also looking at a 1991 Evinrude 200, which I know nothing about. How do they compare, other than the hp?

Only the 1999. E150SLECD. Maybe I can call the guy and get the other.

Your model # for the 150 shows it's a 1998 and a carbed mtr which was a good one. Unless you need the extra hp, I'd stick with it. The 200's got better after 1992.

The 1991 Evinrude 200 HP is not part of the Ocean Pro series.
I think the 200 HP Ocean Pro was introduced around 1993, but not sure on that.
The Ocean Pros are better engines. If I was in the market for a used engine I would go with the newer Ocean Pro over the earlier 90 degree V6's, even if it cost more.

I made a couple corrections to my earlier post.
The Ocean Pro came out in 1993. It was a 90 degree V6 but was redesigned, and a better engine. I've been told by one of the professional engine builders on this forum that Evinrude made a lot of changes to carburetors on the V6 loopers up until 1996 when I guess they figured they finally got it right. I would try to get a 1996 or newer. I still have the older V6 non-Ocean Pro loopers, and I've managed to keep them running but looking back at what I've spent rebuilding and repairing them, I should have looked for a couple used Ocean Pros.
