Hello,

I'd say, it's definitely woth to mess around with it.
I have the same engine and love it. Get's a major overhaul this winter. If it leaks water out the plug hole, you will need a new jack plate cover gasket. It's cheap. Well at least in the US

No fire is another thing. Can't really help with this. But parts are getting more expensive if you need a switchbox for example...

cu
martin

Well I pull the jack plate cover off with 1/2 broken bolts, and the powerhead is just ate up with corrosion. Looks like a nasty "Lung Cancer"
So I don't know what to do now, besides scrap it. Any suggestions???

your on the right track .
I thinks its worth ten cents a pound at pinto island metals.
if it has trim its worth selling and if the lower unit is good its worth parting out.
