Is 12 gal enough?

I am currently running a 72 Evinrude 135 starflite. I am rebuilding a boat and I was wondering will 12 gallons be enogh for the lake?<br />Thanks

Depends on how big the lake is and how far you want to go. If this is a 12 gallon permanent mount tank, I would carry a portable small tank so that if you run out, you can get back on the portable. I kinda miss all the portable tanks of the old days. I used to always leave a few gallons in one of the tanks, and run the rest bone dry......and yes I used that emergency tank more than once.....

Bailey,<br /><br />At slow to moderate speeds that engine will use a minimum of six gallons per hour. Double that, if you ski/tube.<br /><br />You can never have too much fuel.
