This is sad cause this guy "James Winner" invented a great, well made product. Years ago before most cars came with built in alarms the Club was a great deterrent.

I'd simply click that big red club on my steering wheel and never had any of my cars stolen especially like those times I used to dine in NYC and parked my car on the street wondering if it would still be there when I walked back out

I recently bought two more clubs for our boats called the Tire Club. They are made solid and work great.

This guy was 81 and sadly took out two other people in the oncoming car he hit along with him dying too!

I wonder how much he made off those clubs over the years?

Kind of an ironic way to go, for someone who made great money, from an automotive product that did not work, at least to deter experience car thieves, for a car that they really wanted..

The club would delay their efforts, by about 15 seconds. That's how long it takes to hack saw through the STEERING WHEEL, which innards are relatively soft steel, since they have to "give", in a crash. One cut, bend the wheel a tad and the club pulled right off.

Man, I wish I bought this model for my boats. The Tire Club I bought stops the trailer from moving, but does not stop a thief from merely spinning the 5 lug nuts off and tossing on a new rim and tire and happily driving off.

This model in the link below solves that.

I might sell the two tire clubs I bought on Craigslist and pick two of these up. A search on the web would probably find them for the same $69 each I paid for the standard Tire Club.

I would think nothing would be more depressing to me then coming back to the launch site late at night after a day of fishing to see my trailer has vanished

I never knew they had this model. Tashasdaddy has always been saying the thieves just carry a spare rim and tire and that defeats most tire lock devices. Mine are just the simple Tire Club clamp version that don't cover the lug nuts.

Oops, scratch this idea . . . the search continues . . . Only 3 reviews and 2 were negative:

This review is from: The Wheel Club Immobilizer (Misc.)
I selected this product to prevent my car trailer from being stolen/towed away. I'm told that even with locking the hitch, thieves can fasten onto the hitch area via chain and move the trailer.

The Club Wheel Immobilizer 1)does not prevent the lugnuts from being removed, as the thieves COULD have another spare ready to install. 2) The metal structure just apears lightweight and easy to defeat. 3) The lock looks easy to defeat. (Unfounded, untested opinions)

I selected the product because of its relatively inexpensive cost. In this case maybe you do get what you pay for ???????????

I RETURNED the product to AMAZON!!!!!!!!
