Well here we go, they just found a snake head fish in a pond in the Vancouver BC area, and before that some one introduced perch to an ecosystem that supported trout only, infact there are no natural perch habitat within 300 miles of here (up north or out east only)
People have planted in their gardens evasive species of plants that now thrive in the woods do to no natural predators.
Eurasion milfoil, a plant used in fish tanks escaped/flushed into the lakes, now what a mess.

When will people smarten up?

Geez that sucks. I'm suprised the aisian carp have'nt invaded all the rivers yet. I did'nt even know the snake heads were still an issue up there. We live a sheltered life here in Texas....lol

It probably started out in someones fish tank and when it got bigger they released it into the pond.

Hopefully there is no one to spawn with it or Cr#ps gonna hit the fan down there.

Yep, introduce just one non-native species to an ecosystem and everything goes to hell in a handbag!

... just like when then common Carp was introduced to North America back in the mid 1800's.

Invasive species: Homo sapiens

When Homo sapiens move other species into new areas, it's a natural process. However, since it conflicts with personal goals set by the higher invasive species (Home sapiens), the Home sapiens seek to add further control over what suits them.

Since there is no right or wrong within natural processes: Have at it. Eliminate or introduce whatever you want.

The Bass ( Largemouth ) fisherman on the Potomac are upset by the introduction, and proliferation of the Snakehead; they think they will threaten the Bass - the Bass are not indigenous to the Potomac
