The iboats forum moderators are excited to announce that at this time it appears the iboats forums posting pictures function is working once again. Though we cannot promise for how long, we're hoping for indefinitely.
1987 Bay liner capri
The engine is a 2.3 l omc (ford).
I have changed the plugs, wires, points, condenser and the assist solenoid.I changed the coil with one that I knew worked.
Just maybe ---------- take at look at your throttle control. Have someone push it to its WOT position and take a look at what happens to the cut off switch. Possibly it's just moving enough so it is indeed pushing against it and causing it to make contact. I'm just pulling this out of the seat of my pants so it's nothing tried and true.
I tried what you said and the interrupter switch is not disengaging.
I am going to get a new one and ill let you know the results.
Thanks for your help
