Anyone have any comments about it? I remember when XP first went to IE8. Seems it was not all that smooth.

Would like to avoid any issues going to IE9 on my wifes Win7-64 bit laptop.

No problems with IE 9. Very Stable.

unless you have a very good reason to upgrade to 9 (webpage not working or similar) my advice would not upgrade until needed and let other work the kinks.

I installed it, didn't like it, removed it. I had trouble attaching files to emails, and when successful, other people had trouble opening them. I do have vista on this pc, that might have made a difference too.

Dump IE and go with Firefox. :)

When iboats upgraded everybody was crying this or that didn't work with IE.

While I had no problems with using Firefox on iboats. :)

Haven't upgraded, But then again if i did I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between 8 and 9.
I run Firefox exclusively.

Haven't had any issues with it. All the comps in the house run vista or better. I also run firefox and think it's a better browser.

No problems here. Runs and works fine, haven't experienced any problems with it.

I only use FireFox but my wife uses IE. The computer automatically updated to IE9 last week and it's been horrible for her. Lots of web sites not working properly at all. I personally experienced trying to use realtor.com with IE9. I say hold off if you can. (I'm not just an IE hater, I think IE8 was a big improvement)

Thanks all. I hold her off for now. IE8 is working fine. Sounds like IE9 is as I speculated. It is new and people are experiencing a wide variety of successes (or not).

Re: Internet Explorer 9 ??

I Have (had) Win Vista SP1 and IE8 since it first came out (4+ years ?? ).

System has been running dog-slow for some time, especially the browser. Couldn't even keep up with keystrokes or mouse movements. Saw a browser tab appear to upgrade browser, but when I tried to upgrade, It would not install beceause Vista need a service pack. (I've been out of the IT industry for many years and forgot that "windows update" did not install service packs.

Anyway, I installed Vista service pack 2 and then IE9. The system and browser now run faster and better than when the box was brand new. I don't if it was the SP2 that improved things, IE9, or both, but overall, I'm now a very happy camper.

The browser is working so well, that if there is bugs, I'm not noticing them.

To each of their own. Just deployed 400 Pcs with Win7 and IE 9 without any problems.

Not if you were asking about MAC we are done talking.

Re: Internet Explorer 9 ??

I run IE9 on everything we've got at home, Vista, Win 7 and Server 2008R2. Works well on all of them. The only thing that I really don't care for about IE9 vs IE8 is the popup windows at the bottom asking about disabling add-ons periodically (I've got an AVG security add-on that runs a bit slow some days)

Firefox - too many business related sites that don't work unless you are running IE, not worth the hassel of even trying to switch back and forth.

I would love to visit those sites that won't work with FF, my wife runs an internet business, that has created and hosts over 1000+ customer websites and she has been running FF for several years now, never had a problem at all with any website using FF

Gonna be tough without a login - I'm talking about real business sites not public sites. Tenrox Enterprise Portal, Outlook Web Access, Sharepoint Sites, etc.
