is any one else PO'd at the changes in IE7 in regards to the top menu/tool bars? They have needlessly rearanged every thing and split up a bunch of the different functions, placing some of them on seperate bars. I suppose I will get used to it but I think it was nothing but changes for changes sake.

I love it! It takes a few days of getting used to but overall I think it's WAY better. The search thing is GREAT!! d:)

hehe I've had the search thing and tabs for years in Firefox.

But yea, the toolbar location in IE7 is a little awkward.

Anybody noticed a big change in response time with V7? I may have other problems but my response time seems to have gone to pot since I installed V7.

I have not tried Firefox or Mozilla but am interested especially if it is faster.

Your input????????

Boom, tabs let you have more than one page open in one window instead of having to flip between several windows. Look at the top, see how it looks like a tab on a file folder? Click the little blank tab beside it and it'll open a new tab (or hit crtl-t). What I really like is to right-click a link and open in a new tab. Try it, you may wonder how you ever got along without it.

I was a fence sitter too about Firefox (Mozilla). Decided to give it a try, haven't looked back. I still use IE 6 every once in a very rare while for ftp stuff because I never took the time to figure out how to logon to an ftp site with Firefox.

Firefox does not have all of the hooks and backdoors to integrate into the smorgasbord of MS applications so it is much less vulnerable to viruses, if that is a concern for you. If you use a bunch of MS stuff integrated into your email and web browser you might be better off sticking with the MS IE product.

Firefox is highly customizable. You can install free addons (plugins) that do all kinds of things. They are easy to install and uninstall so you spend/waste a lot of time surfing the addons at the Firefox website. You have to ask yourself, do you really need that real-time Bangladesh population counter active in your corner of your browser?:)

Fwiw, I was impressed enough with Firefox that I also switched it its Mozilla cousin, Thunderbird, as my non-gmail emailer. No more Outlook, no more Eudora with its advertisements and renewing conditions, etc.

Some folks have said Firefox is faster, some have said it is a little slower. Seems about the same to me until I installed addons to block certain website scripts than the web surfing took off like a rocket. For me the one thing that affects the speed of web surfing is how well I maintain my computer and HDD.

Edit: the Lenovo/IBM Password Manager/encryption/decoder whatever software is not yet fully integrated into the Firefox browser. If you have a Lenovo/IBM computer and use that application to effect auto login at websites (I do) it is not yet fully functional if you use Firefox. No problems with IE 6, haven’t tried IE 7 but I wouldn’t expect any probs with the Password Manager using it. IBM says fixing that to work with Firefox is a priority update they are working on.

They seem to load pages about the same to me though some tests say IE is a little faster. I just like the features of Firefox and the fact that I don't worry about getting infected with spyware b/c of vulnerabilities in my browser.

I use spyware removal products on my customer's computers to clean them out (some of them repeatedly). I don't use any on mine at all because with Firefox + good habits I just never get any.

[colour=blue]I have to agree, since I became a firefox user (and good anti-spyware software) I have not been infected with anything.
