Fired right up today and idled perfect with tach and charge. Replacing the stator wasn't anywhere near as much trouble as I expected.

I did a sketchy thing though. I was worried about all the fried parts so I bought a "jetunit" china stator for $180 and some no name china reg/rec for $80 on the reasoning that if there is some further issue causing my burnouts at least I won't be out BRP $$$.

I couldn't find any substantive information or reviews about jetunit (just star reviews) but they seem to be for sale all over the place so I guess I'll test.
The box says "CREAT [sic] GREAT PARTS AND FRIENDSHIP". Time will tell. My insurance covers offshore tow...
