Intermittent Starting

30 HP 1997 Merc. Sometimes I turn the key and nothing. Try it again a few seconds later and it starts right up.

Could be switch, wiring, connections, solenoid or starter. Check all connections and use a voltmeter to check for 12v from starter then all the way back.
