i think i saw an intermitent blue spark on both cylinders. the engine wont start: it cranks, get cranking rpms on the tach gage, cleaned pretty much all the grounds and spraying fuel mix into the carb does nothing. i dont know what else to try guys! please help. could the stator, trigger, rectifier be bad? how could i check them?????? i keep thinking its a loose wire but that hope is diminishing by the hour. ideas?
edited to say its a 1989 force 50hp

got the right wire on the right plug?

then check compression.
got good compression?

then re-check spark. wrap some wire around base of plug and screw to ground. same kind of wire that they use in houses works great. inside or at dusk and you can see sparking clearly.
got spark?

then check fuel delivery. squeeze bulb.
does it pump up and become hard?
if it pumps up but doesn't stiffen, then is there gas coming out of carb overflow? If yes, then bad needle. If everything works okay up to this point ... good compression, good spark, fual being delivered to carbs ... then only thing left is fuel getting sucked into engine. Maybe last years fuel is this years gummy residue? Maybe all you need is a pipe cleaner and a careful cleaning of passageways?

no points.
Time to get a repair manual.
Even with the help you will get here, a manual will help in troubleshooting and procedures.

Get the Clymer Force repair manual, buy one or borrow from the library.

Where is Partville USA?
There is a Pardeeville WI, not far from me.
