Intermintant/weak spark on 1996 175 Fast Strike

Hi there. I have a 1996 175hp Evinrude Fast Strike. I am getting light spark on all cylinders but as soon as I open the gap up to 7/16 on my spark checker I loose spark on 4 cylinders and have intermittent spark on 2 cylinders. I am not sure where to go next. Should I look at the optical sensor or am I looking at maybe a power back. I am at a lose and would love to get this thing running asap. Any advice would be great. Also there is no boat shop close to me. Thank you in advance
