Intermediate bearing penta aq225 parts?

Took the boat out today, and had a squealing from the rear in reverse, and a growl when in forward. U joints are new this year, so Im looking at replacing the 2 bearing that are in the bell housing.

Is there a complete kit available, or do I need to order part by part. Does anybody have a complete part list of everything I need.

You'll need two bearings #66 & #70 and the two seals #69 & 71.
Also want the two new orings for reinstalling the upper gear housing.
Your going to need a good set of snap ring pliers.

which drive are you running with your engine? 275 or 290? bearings and seals are the same BTW. Just curious.

I have a 290 outdrive attached. Worst part is I just put motor in, I should have checked the bearings when I had it out. Guess I just got in to big of a hurry. Oh well, guess I will get some practice pulling the outdrive and motor.

Well live and learn i guess.

That bearing job is not that bad. I had a heck of a time with the snap rings and so will you. Be ready to practice your patience.

Post any questions you may have along the way, Seems a lot of us have done that job recently.

BTW, did you regear your 290 or are you going to try running it the way it is?

I am running a 285 lower unit that came with the donor boat. But I don't like the way it handles, so Im going to switch the gears into the 290 lower. I really like the new found power. Now just to get all the kinks worked out.
