I've recently acquired a 1988 Bayliner Capri 1500 with 50hp outboard. The floors are coming out, and therfore the seats too. Currenlty there is a "bench" for driver and 2 passengers and the battery is located under the middle seat. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas for replacing these seats with something that will be more comfortable for doing some fishing and where to relocate the battery? I'm looking for some innovative ideas for rebuilding. Possibly a pedestal for driver and passenger but what to do with the battery without moving it all the way to the rear.

Also, on either side of the fuel tank storage area, there appears to be a hollow "box" in each corner of the rear of the boat. No holes or vents. Can these be removed or do they serve as a critical support or something? Right now they appear to be just taking up valuable space.

Re: Interior layout

Those "hollow" boxes may be filled with flotation foam. Have seen alot of boats with that setup. As far as layout is concerned, pics would help us get an idea of what you are working with. You will get much more input that way
