interference

Hi people, i have a 2000 silverado.
there is a high pitch sound, some kind of interference that is getting worse by the week. i think its from the stereo speakers,
the weird thing is it happens even with the stereo off.
anyhelp would be great. Thank David

does it change with engine rpm? if so possible alternator diodes going out.

I have seen that happen when a Body Control Module goes bad. It's electrical related. Does your radio turn off when you exit with the ignition off? Any other strange things happen? If it is getting worse I would check with a GM Tech.... There are probably a few on iboats.

it doesnt change with the rpms.
my stereo goes off when i open the door with the ignition off.

probaly the fuel pump getting ready to crap out if it doesn't change with engine rpm's

Do you just think or know that this sound is coming from the stereo speakers? Did you put your ear to the speakers to verify?

i actually dont know for sure if its the speakers.
ill let someome drive and ill check.
i do know the noise is coming from inside the truck.
