interchangeable mercury lower units

I have a 1973 Mercury 85 HP outboard (inline 4 cylinder)<br /><br />Can anyone tell me which HP range of lower units will fit on the powerhead I have?<br /><br />Does anyone have one they are willing to part with for some $$?

Dg, you need another off a 4 cyl mercury...same size case on the 6 cyl models, but the gear ratio is different...you now have a 2.3:1 ratio, most 6 cyl are 2:1 ratio....I might have a lower unit for you, used....I will look tomorrow...
