instrument problem :/

Hello.....last fall we updated our cruising boat to a 240 8 cyl Volvo Penta SX outdrive and absolutely love the larger space and smooth ride.... that being said I bought the boat with 3 problems I knew about and was hoping I can resolve them before we put the boat in the water this spring. #1 the trim/tilt works perfectly but the gauge does not work.... #2 the water depth gauge does not work ..... #3 the passenger glove compartment door frame is cracked which means the glove compartment door doesn't stay closed.....I would like to try to fix the 2 electrical problems on my own if possible and was wondering if anyone knew if interior parts could be purchased and replaced since the original glove compartment housing is cracked and unfixable..... any help with these problems would be most helpful to me..... thanks in advance and safe boating preparation season....

Well, lets start with the year, make and model of your boat.

Trim and tilt - you will need to do some troubleshooting to see if it's the sending unit, the wiring or the gauge.

Depth Finder - more than likely the transducer is bad. Will most likely need to replace the entire unit.

We have a 2002 Four Winns 240 Horizion 5.7L with a Volvo Penta SX outdrive... and are the most likely reasons for the trim/tilt gauge failures mostly the sending unit or the actual gauge itself??

I'm going to install a fishfinder/GPS so I will have my depth information in front of me....I'll leave the inoperative depth alone.....

Corrosion usually gets the sending unit.
