With a Nissan tach installer...Tach and wiring harness from any Nissan or Tohatsu dealer. You do not want to use an aftermarket tach as it will not work correctly.

The original 3B7725302M TACHOMETER ASSY (NO LOGO) is NLA (no longer available). You can use either 3AD726400M TACHOMETER - 4STR - WHITE (FTC8137) $74.25 or 3AC726400M TACHOMETER - 4STR - BLACK (FTC8138) $74.25, and just don't connect the low oil pressure light, as it's intended for the 4-stroke motors. You will want the wiring harness 361725390M LEAD WIRE TACH 20' $44.40 if you have a tiller model, or 3R0725371M LEAD WIRE, METER $56.13 if you have remote control. These are available from any dealer, including me.

You plug the wires in.
And set the switch on back of the tach to the correct number of poles in the alternator for your model. Full information is in the Factory service manual, Part# 003-21035-1 $44.17, available from any dealer, including me.

Hi pvanv...could you please help me as you helped Scud22, exept i have a 2011 Honda BF25 (25Hp) with an electric start.I too would love to install a Tachometer along with an Hourmeter (that i already have installed but not hooked...), do you sell original/official Honda service manuals ?...i have another Honda,a 2010 BF2 (2Hp)...but i don't think it's possible to have an hour meter on the two Hp (BF2) since it does not have a starter or dynamo/alternator...but if this can be done...i would very much love to have a tachometer and a hour meter for the little one too
Thank you,
Dan

Your post actually belongs in a new thread, but...

I would recommend you consult with a Honda dealer (I'm not one, sorry.) Normally, an hour meter requires 12v to run. It's essentially a clock that comes on with the 12v of the motor, and shuts off when the 12v is off. For OB's that don't have an alternator, the tach would typically be an inductive pickup unit, such as tiny tach brand.
