installing starte on 57 35hp evinrude

I am wanting to install a starter on my 1957 35hp evinrude. I am getting the starter and brackett from a 1958. I need to know what all needs to be done and what components i need.

That depends on what you are trying to do. If it is to be like they were in 1957, you need a whole bunch of stuff, cables, junction box, switches, lower front pan & plug, etc, etc.

If you are just trying to jury rig something up, you need a solenoid, battery cables, some wire, a push button switch, and some simple knowledge of how starters work and are wired.

If you want to also be able to electrically choke it, you need a different carburetor with a choke solenoid attached.
