Installed my new rectifier (Marineengine.com part # 585001 perfect match to old one) today but noticed it only had 4 wires instead of 5. Yellow,Yellow with Gray stripe,Gray, and Red. The old one had a purple wire. Does anyone know if the manufacturer made changes and the purple isn't needed? I have not turned the key on yet to see if I get any warning lights or buzzers. Your thoughts.
Thanks,
Richard

Is this just a rectifier or regualtor/rectifier?? If it is a reg/rect, the new ones don't use the purple wire.
