Installing permanent poly gas tank

Hello all,
I just purchased a sail boat with a OMC outboard. The previous owner had placed 2- portable steel gas tanks in a locker, below the cockpit (un-vented space). I am going to replace them with a permanent "poly" gas tank
and have a couple of questions that someone may be able to answer.
My boat does not have a ground plate, nor a bolted keel. Will the battery negative terminal suffice as a ground/ bond for the installation?
Will the "squeeze bulb" on the gas fuel line work o.k. if I re-locate it close to the motor, outside of the hull at the transom, or can I eleminate it altogether?
Many thanks for any assistance, and all have a HAPPY NEW YEAR. Bill D.

BDAVIS,

DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE GROUNDING. I ASSUME IT'S OK IF EVERYTHING ELSE GOES TO THE BATT.

IT DOESN'T MATTER WHICH END YOU PUT THE BULB ON AS LONG AS IT HAS THE ARROW POINTED IN THE DIRECTION OF FUEL FLOW. A LESSON LEARNED THE $$$$ WAY.

Re: Installing permanent poly gas tank

Thanks for the info. The locker space is dorade vented (no blower). The new tank will be outside vented. Also, I appreciate the "arrow on the bulb" info. Not knowing, I had a 50/50 chance of screwing it up.
I have been researching this project, but there is not a lot of info to be had.
Happy New Year, Bill Davis
