Installing new style switch boxes 115 P Merc

Hello,<br /> the new switch boxes has a long black wire coming out of it, Does that wire go to a ground on the mounting plate?<br /> The new boxes has a ground lug that the old boxes don't have. Is this where i ground the coils?<br /> Thanks, Walt

You must have CDI aftermarket boxes. The black lead is the ground, the ground lug is only used if the old box used it. the black lead and the lug are the same.

DasBoot,<br /> Thanks for the info. The ground leads on the coils will have to be grounded, and since the new switch boxes are not metal like the old ones, can i hook the coil grounds to the lug on the box and the black wire to a ground on the backing plate?
