Hey all. I am in the process of repowering my 1989 Invader V240 Euro. Before I begin to install the new motor, have any of you put a motor in and then had to back track because you forgot something? I want this to go as smooth as possible!! Basically I am looking for pointers from folks that have done this before... This is a 24' boat, Mercruiser 260hp. I plan to go through the steering, etc while it is all easily accessible back there, clean up, etc. What else? Thanks in advance!

Well, from what I have gathered you really do not need so separate the gimball housing ( I think that is what it is called ) from the hull unless it showed signs of leaking, which this one is not. The other thing I thought about was the Y pipe gasket , but again, I don't think that needs to be replaced. I will be ready to put the engine in next week sometime so if anyone has any pointers of what to do ( or not to do) please let me know. Thanks again. -Justin
