G'day, i have a HDS 5 lowrance sounder i have already mounted the skimmer, and now wish to add structure scan, my biggest problem is that i have a tri hull boat and they cause bulk turbulance.. I guess my question is do any of you guys have a suggestion or a tri hull boat to where i should install the transducer for structure scan?? Here is a pic of my transom.. Any help will be appreciated.. Cheers

Re: Installing Lowrance LSS-1 Structure scan Question..

I would mount the LSS transducer about 10" - 12" just to the left of where you have the existing transducer mounted. The Side Scan only works at low speeds, so turbulence shouldn't be an issue as long as you're clear of your outboard when turning right.

An alternate location would be on the left side of the transom, a mirror image of your existing transducer, but you'd lose a lot of your down image resolution by having the transducers so far apart.

My transducers are mounted right between a pair of 150 HP outboards and work perfectly.
