Installing ignition for a 50 hp Honda 4 stroke BF50A

Hi. Wondering if I can install a key ignition to this Honda outboard. It currently has the push button start at the outboard, but would prefer to have it up front at the controls for convenience and for better security too! Outboard info pasted below. It's the BF50A3 SRJA 2003 - BAZS-3301001

Chris, your links aren't working. I have to admit I have never worked on an engine with the start switch mounted on the engine. It sounds like some sort of tiller control conversion?

In any case, this should be very doable. It's just a case of how to set it up and what you need.

What sort of controls forward do you have on this boat? Are they the top mount type that uses a separate panel with the push to choke key switch and warning lights?
