What's the trick to putting the bearing buddies on? The new bearing buddies i have appear to be tapered, so I would think that it's a pressure fit. They certainly aren't threaded. But I just can't seem to drive them in. I've been trying to bang them in with a hammer, placing a piece of wood over the part so as to not damage it. But no luck. Any suggestions?

Compare the diameter on the Bearing Buddy with the dust cap that it will replace as to why you're having so much trouble. There's actually about a dozen different sizes.

Re: Installing bearing buddies

I replaced my Buddy Bearings and I installed the new ones by putting a little grease on the tapered side and align it with the hub then take a piece of 2x4 and a hammer and put the 2x4 on the Buddy Bearing and hit the center of the 2x4 and it will go right on. It really makes it easy!!
