New guy here, hope you can help. I just purchased a motor guide wireless. I am installing it in a 2000 starcraft superfisherman that I bought last year. There are 2 additional battery boxes with leads already going to the boxes for 2 more batteries. My question is are these wired directly to the factory bow plug for a trolling motor and if so is there a circuit breaker or fuse somewhere to protect that trolling motor plug. The installation manual says there should be a circuit breaker in there some where and I dont know if it has a factory installed one since it has a factory installed bow mounted trolling motor plug. Dont want to risk a new trolling motor b y being wrong.

Re: installing a trolling motor

Chances are the breaker/fuse is NOT included as they would/should be placed right at the battery to protect the entire run of each circuit. If your troller is a 12V unit and you intend to use two batteries they need to be wired in parallel. If the troller is a 24V unit, the batteries must be wired in series or else the plug/switch panel provides the series connection.
