Installing a tach

I have an '86 Mariner 30 hp manual start (no alternator). How do I hook a tach to this engine? Thanks.

Probably the easiest way is to use a Tiny Tach (I must admit, this is one of the poorest websites I've seen, but the product is good)

Problem is I have a Teleflex tach I just got for a steal off ebay.

Hey "J"<br /><br />Do you have a battery on board? If you do, post a picture of the back of the tach, and of the cylinder head plug and coil area.....Maybe we can cook something up!
