Re: installing a tach gauge

The signal input is the gray wire in the harness. It is connected to the AC side of the rectifier at the engine.

Ground is to the Negative side of the battery.
Power should be supplied from the switched output from the ignition switch.

Lighting connected in parallel with the lighting for your other gauges.

For that engine you need a tachometer that is designed for Force outboards. Teleflex has the Red International Series tach which will work. It is available here on i-boats.

He means a 20 pole tach and in reality that the only 1 that works anymore.

Man that was not easy the search function is messed up on the Megamall but here it is Chrylser/force tach.
Be happy!

Re: installing a tach gauge

yhea i think i allready got a teleflex, later model though. my problem is i need to do some splaicing and daicing with the wires! i got red(ignition), gray(sender), black(gnd.) and blue for the ligth bulb.
i got 2 blue coil packs... exactly where should i hook up the sender (gray wire) to it?? i think it would be way easyer that way. any ideas?
