installing a steering console 14 Ft

I have an older 14' high sides aluma craft flat bottom jon boat. I would like to install a steering console and upgrade my old 18 hp evenrude with a newer 25 hp motor that that I can adapt for steering. Have any of you done this ? I would appriciate some advice if you don't mind sharing.
