Okay i installed a battery isolator today and when i started the motor the volt gauge was not reading anything and the warning beep was going off. I wired everything like the image below so im not sure what is wrong.

Alternator ouput wire to alt stud on isolator (i removed the factory alt wire at the alternator and taped off the connector ring that ran back to the starter and ran a new 8 gauge wire to the isolator directly from the alt ouput post)

Battery 1 stud on isolator to batt 1 stud on perko switch w/8gauge wire
battery 2 stud on isolator to batt 2 stud on perko switch w/8 gauge wire
middle lug on perko switch to starter (did not change anything here)

anyone have any ideas where i screwed up??

Re: Installed battery isolator

well dont i feel like a knucklehead right now...lol.....well the warning beep was for the gear oil resevoir which was empty since i have removed the drive. Added gear fluid to the resevoir and bingo warning beep shut off. i also forgot that these alternators need a few rpm's to get going so i ran the throttle up and bingo volt gauge now reading and it reads at idle as well. all is well thanks for the advice guys..
