After being a member of this forum for a little while now I have learned quite a bit of information about boating, maintaining, ect.. <br /> Probably the most important thing that I have noticed is that if there is ever a problem with WOT the first thing that is always asked is: What is your RPM's? I am amazed by the number of boats out there that dont have Tach's on them. On my first boat which had a 50hp Force on it,, I put a tach on it. It benefits in many ways; You can know accurate RPM's which can sometimes help you to troubleshoot problems, Secondly: It should keep you from over-reving engine when under full speed and triming. It is an inexpensive insurance device which may save some problems down the road. Bottom Line; Install a Tach!
