Looking for some help here. The inner bearing on my Cox trailer is frozen to the axle. Tried heating and beating but have not been successfuil yet.

The axle looks to be one piece (No Separate Hub). Any advice on where to go from here would be appreciated. More Heat?

heat it cherry red and try to get a chisel behind the race DONT STAND IN FRONT OF IT WHEN DOING THIS. i have seen them fly off and burn people pretty bad. 1 put the nut and washer back on the axle so it does not fly off. try not to heat the axle just heat the race

What is best to heat with? I have a propane torch, but have access (through work) to more heavy duty equipment. Can a propane torch get it hot enough?

If you've got it stripped down to Just the Inner race, stuck on the Quill.........

Get a Cutting Torch,
Burn Off, 1/2 to 3/4s the Thickness of the Race.... In only 2 or 3 places....
Then Quickly heat the remaining race.....
Now, Beat It Off.......

Don't burn through,+ hit the quill........
And,
Heating the race Quickly, will minimumize the Heat in the quill........

Take a 4" grinder and cut the bearing as deep as possible without hitting the axle, then hit the spot you ground with a sharp chisel, it should break. Then the bearing should knock off.
