injectors not firing

What under the console could disable the fuel injectors on a 95 Merc 175 xri. Started up before we left, had to get under the console to rerun the wiring to the fish finder and then motor would not turn over, wiggled some wires underneath, got it to start for a few seconds, died then no crank,wiggled more wires got it to crank but no start. next day same thing actually got it started but didn't run well then died. No problem with getting it to crank now but still no start. getting spark the whole time but the injectors are not feeding fuel. fuel pump's good.What in the ignition would kill the fuel injectors and not the spark. neutral and lanyard kill switch are ok.

if it was power to ECU, would it not affect the spark also? could it be part of the warning systems ie; overheating, oiler etc., disabling the injectors?

ECU is fuel only, spark is stator ,packs and coils. No system on that engine to shut down anything...just sets off a horn

yo, you reran the wiring to the fishfinder, then the motor had problems.Your Quote.
You need to go back remove the fishfinder and restore the wiring to its original state.
Then you need to find power and ground from a different location.source.
You need to do the new wiring correctly. Butt splice connectors then always shrink tube over the splice.
Did fuel injectors exist in 1995? on mercury outboards,just asking to learn something.
Are you sure the fuel injectors are not firing,how do you know for sure.

pulled manifold cover off today and injectors are firing but not much fuel is coming out. they all seem to put out the same amount just not much spray. anything else to check that would cut down fuel? Tommarvin, yes, injectors on a 95. the plug to the fishfinder had fell back under the console into the hole it was ran thru. had to get up under the console to run it back up thru the hole to connect to fishfinder.

What your fuel pressure??? Need to be 35psi or higher....

39psi. what about air temp sensor, TPS. I have not checked the manual fuel pump yet cause I felt that it would be good if it had good fuel pressure at the electric pump.
