I have just completed changing the lower end oil for the first time on my new Honda 50HP. I noticed what seemed to be a few trace metal fragments collected by the magnet on the drain plug. Is this normal break-in wear on a new engine that has only been run for 20 or so hours?

Sure, you have nothing to worry about, those little fine particals are just from break-in! As long as there are no (chunks), things are fine!

Hasbeen ;)

I am also in the process of breaking my new motors in, and my dealer told me the same thing. Fine metal pieces are part of the break in.
