Don't you have fixed jets in your carbs, no adjustment, or are you asking about the idle RPM?

We have been though this discussion before !!------Your carburetors if original did NOT have an adjustable low speed jet.----------If it has a brass needle valve it is adjustable.----If it has a recessed slotted screw in there, it is a PLUG that must be tight.----The plug allow access to the calibrated orifice for low speed mixture.------So what is your motor doing / not doing here that leads you to trying and adjusting the mix ?????

Thanks for the reply racerone. I honestly haven't looked over the carbs that well just yet haven't even run the motor yet actually. I acquired it to put on the back of the 16 Starcraft I have been rebuilding.

Before I fired it put a new water pump ran compression and spark test. She failed the spark test on cylinder 2 so I replaced all of the ignition components on the motor. I am sure the reason the P/O quit running her is because of the failed spark on number 2. In his "diagnosing" he backed the screw on the top of carb number 2 way out (its out so far that I can see it just by looking at it). I just wasn't sure if this was a fixed jet carb or not, and wanted to ask before I tore into it.

There may yet be fuel problems I am uncertain but I have kicked the spark problems out of the way, pretty sure I am going to have to rebuild the starter as she cranks fast with one plug missing but won't crank fast with all three plugs in. (I don't have the controls hooked up yet she is just on a stand at the moment so I went directly to the top of the solenoid with jumper cables).

I am also sure it wasn't holding time as well because in diagnosing no spark I pulled the flywheel and found a broken shear key as well (that coupled with the fact that it had a different colored lower unit) made think he lost spark wasn't holding time and gave up on the motor.

Anyways she has been freshened up a bit, passes spark test, new water pump, new gear oil for the lower, just trying to make sure all my bases before the first firing of the motor.

Here she is after a little makeover.
