initial carb adjustments

i just reassembled my carb on my 56 Evinrude big twin 30 hp. Since my service manual has no info on the carb or magneto, can anyone tell me what the initial settings should be on the high and low speed needles? when i put the knobs back on, should they read "0" when the needles are grounded (bottomed out)?

Low speed (top): 1.5 turns out
High speed: 3/4 turn out
These are just starting points. Final adjustments must be made on the boat running in the water. Once optimized, set the knobs in the center of their ranges.

knobs go back on after adjusting, just makes it easier. read the TOP SECRET FILE.
