Looking to repower, I have come across a 1994 Yamaha 55 hp motor for $1900. I believe it is the commercial model, but that is about all I know. Can anyone give insight as to this motor's performance and durability compared to the Pro Series? Thanks.
Hi. Did a little checking with my local Yamaha dealer for you. Without the full model number he can't get too detailed but........<br /><br />It seems you are looking at the non injection version which was the "commercial" back then. Good reliable engine from what I have been able to find out. I am currently running a 93 Yamaha 90 oil injection, it has been a great motor. One of the nicest things with the Yamaha's is the power to weight ratio. <br /><br />If the motor is in good shape you should have a winner there.
